Pokémon Kanto Khaos Episode 4: Daring Davide?!

“I’ll bite. Who in the crud are you and why did you destroy Pikachu’s ketchup bottle, ya really ticked my partner off”
“My name is Kiri Tagamo and I frankly could not care one bit in the slightest about that useless bottle of condiment sauce.”
“EBlade Zora… Hmm seems like the kinda rival Trainer I might be looking for…”

Now…

The battle with Kiri Tagamo did put me down a little since Pikachu could barely even land a single attack other than Quick Attack, but it also got me fired up to face Kiri again. These thoughts ran through my mind as I was walking to Viridian City with Pikachu. Poor little guy, after all the trouble we went through to avenge his ketchup bottle he still felt down about losing to Kiri’s Vulpix. “I got an idea buddy, soon as we get to Viridian City I’ll buy ya a fresh new bottle of ketchup!!” I exclaimed. Pikachu replied with an excited “Pika!!” and an electric smile on his face but went back to feeling down about our battle. “So, it’s not just the ketchup he’s upset about, the fact that we got beat easily is kinda a bummer to him” I thought to myself. At that moment, we heard a voice screaming “Watch out!!” from above. I looked up to see a big round shadow getting larger by the minute along with what looked like a Trainer on top of it but by the time I realised it they crashed down on me with a big crash.

The impact knocked me out for what felt like 2 hours straight, until I felt a spark of electricity that really shocked me. I jolted back up to find Pikachu with his cheeks sparking like crazy. “So, that shocking surprise was you huh buddy?” I asked Pikachu. “Bingo, give the lad a cookie” said a voice behind me. I looked at the source of the voice and saw a tan boy with a blue outfit with a Squirtle at his side. “What no thanks for waking you up?” said the boy. “Well considering you knocked me down in the first-place Bluey” I replied. “The name is not Bluey, it’s Daring Davide” the boy exclaimed. “Daring Davide? Guess that’ll probably explain why the crud he was riding around on that poor Squirtle’s shell” I thought to myself. “In that case if words don’t help let’s settle this with a battle!!” Davide said. “I’m never one to back out of a fight so let’s do this” I replied.
“Alrighty then, Pikachu I choose you!!” I exclaimed as my partner leaped into action. “K then, Squirtle let’s show these two how daring we really are!!” Davide said. “Using a water type like Squirtle against an electric type like Pikachu, guess this brings a whole new meaning to Daring Davide” I thought to myself. “Pikachu start things off with a super speedy Quick Attack” I commanded but to no avail since Squirtle used Withdraw to hide in its shell. “Okay then try this, Thundershock!!” which should have super effective against a water type like Squirtle but the darn thing just sat there with a smug grin on its face. “Now it’s our turn to attack, go Rapid Spin!” Davide commanded. The force of the Rapid Spin made Pikachu a little dizzy but he shook it off and responded with another Thundershock. “Get em while they’re feeling shaken up Pikachu, use Thundershock once more!!” I commanded. “Counter with Withdraw Squirtle” Davide commanded. Luckily the Thundershock had so much power it shattered Squirtle’s defence and defeated it.
“Phew you made me sweat like crazy, man you’re a decent trainer” Davide said. “You aren’t half bad yourself, I never seen such amazing defensive power like that before” I replied. At that point we said our farewells and parted as rivals.
